York Race Day Lunches

The 2018 season is about to get underway at York Racecourse, which means our race day lunches are back.

Before you head off for a day at the races, join us for a pre-race lunch in The Refectory from 11am to 2pm. For those arriving early, we’d recommend Eggs Benedict, our smoked ‘Pork Benny’ or a Gloucester Old Spot sausage, melted Swaledale cheese and sourdough bun. Our brand new menu also features some of our Refectory Favourites: our burger with Swaledale cheese, smoked bacon jam and gherkin, served with hand-cut Maris Piper chips, and our Yorkshire Terrier ale-battered haddock with hand-cut Maris Piper chips, marrowfat peas and tartare sauce. We’re open until 10pm, if you fancy stopping by for dinner on your way home.

Next door, Chapter House bar will be serving from 11am; open till late, it’s also the perfect place for post-race drinks. The bar will also be home to live music from 6pm on 17 and 18 May, with local bands playing a mix of classic and contemporary acoustic rock, pop and soul.
